Click to Watch Dr. Donsbach Speak About Liposomal Technology
In almost all the diagnosed autism cases, there is a rather abrupt change from a normal child to a child withdrawn and uncommunicative. The genetic predisposition theory as to cause is probably better stated as a biological terrain weakness that allowed a trauma (vaccine?) to create havoc whereas had the biological terrain been strong it would have been able to accommodate the stress. This easily answers the question as to why all vaccinated children do not develop autism. There are cases of autism that seem to be unrelated to any specific incidence such as a vaccine encounter but which a weak biological terrain explains quite easily.
We do know the following:
- There is almost always a gut problem with autistic children. In order to not aggravate that circumstance, the use of a casein and gluten free diet appears to be a must. Probiotics should always be used.
- A refined sugar and additive free diet also has brought noticeable improvement. Glycemic index lists can be very helpful.
- Drugs do not appear to have any beneficial effect, so the less medicine the child needs, the better.
- Statistics indicate that 85 percent of autistic children who tried "dietary intervention" including supplements showed significant response.
- Hyperbaric oxygen, although somewhat slow, usually is effective. It is the use of supplements that will be the subject of this paper. Given the known inadequate absorption rates of autistic children and the known poor absorption even under ideal conditions of most nutrients, (vitamin C - 19%; glutathione - 4%, CoQ10 - 9%) we will be discussing a new delivery system for these nutrients involving nanotechnology and liposomal delivery. We can offer an increase in absorption (90+%) in all of the aforementioned nutrients in a pleasant tasting liquid that requires less than 2 teaspoons daily dosage. If the viscosity is not acceptable, the teaspoonful can be mixed in 2 ounces of orange or pineapple juice and drunk.
Nanotechnology Liposomal Delivery of the above three nutrients are particularly important for the autistic child: the vitamin C will do much to prevent infections and stimulate the immune system; glutathione and CoQ-10 are particularly involved with the mitochondrial energy energy cycle and are probably the most important free radical quenchers in the whole array of nutrients. Various researchers have documented that oral glutathione and CoQ-10 is very difficult to recover in the blood. Our special preparation increases the absorption rate up to an incredible 90 plus percent. It is not unusual to see results in one week.
Food choices are very important, after eliminating the cereals and breads and dairy products (your child will usually tolerate whipping cream and butter without any problem), you need to start checking those foods which are quickly converted to sugar in the body. The use of a Glycemic Index chart will be invaluable, any food over 50 on the chart is questionable and should not be a regular part of the diet. This includes some fruit and fruit juices (which can be diluted with water to create a lower index).
There is a high incidence of constipation in autistic children - it is up to the parents to see that this does not happen. Use as much high fiber vegetables and allowable fruits as possible to avoid this. Make sure enough water is consumed each day - a six year old should consume at least 4 eight ounce glasses of water each day, a 12 year old should have 8 eight ounce glasses each day. If there has not been a bowel movement every day, use a children's pre-prepared enema or a glycerin suppository. Either one is safe and effective. Under certain conditions there may be diarrhea. Oddly enough, coconut macaroon cookies make a pleasant approach to this problem. Two or three macaroons and the problem is over. Let's Talk Health also has a product called I'm OK which works like a charm - one tablespoonful or so and the problem is solved. This product is also very effective in relieving any irritants in the gut and can be used for this purpose for a few days.
Pursuant to the ongoing gut problem usually presented, it is good medicine to give these children probiotics. It is most important that they be given between meals so that they are not destroyed by the acid gastric media. I would use 2 capsules in the mid morning and 2 capsules in the mid afternoon of Intestinal Flora from Let's Talk Health.
Numerous studies indicate deficiencies of fatty acids. I use 1 - 2 capsules twice daily (depending on age) of a fish/flax combination that works well.
The use of a broad spectrum vitamin-mineral complex that is liquid and emulsified for easy absorption is best. Emulsified Agua Vitae for Children is a good choice: ages up to 3 years - 1 tsp; 3-6 years - 2 tsp; 6-12 years - 2 tablespoons daily. The liquid can be mixed with juice if needed.
Now we come to what I consider the most important of all nutritional support products. That does not mean you should ignore the others, they are very important. But after poring over the literature, the following formula is composed of the factors most involved in the autistic phenomenon. The best results are achieved with either single use or some combination of them. I have decided on the following formula presented in a liposomal format that guarantees absorption and results. Liposomes are submicroscopic bubbles that are absorbed almost 100% in the gut and carry the nutrient directly to the cells. The covering material is essential for rebuilding cell walls and neurological pathways, so you benefit both ways!
One tsp. of this formula is equal to this oral dose of non-liposomal products:
Glutathione Approx. 4,000 mg
Vitamin C Approx. 2,000 mg
CoQ10 Approx. 250 mg
Because of super increased liposomal absorption, we can now use the seemingly magical properties of these nutrients in an easy-to-administer way. Children 1 to 3 years, use 1/4 tsp twice daily; 3-6 years use 1/2 tsp twice daily; over six use 1 tsp in the morning and 1 tsp in the evening. Use kitchen measuring spoons. Best used one-half hour before meals. You may wish to increase the dosage initially in difficult cases.
