The medical use of curcumin
goes back for literally centuries. In the traditional Indian system of herbal medicine known as Ayurveda, curcumin is believed to strengthen the overall energy of the body, relieve gas, dispel worms, improve digestion, regulate menstruation, dissolve gallstones, and relieve arthritis. Kind of difficult to get any better than that!
The properties of curcumin can best be summarized as protective of the integrity of bio molecules in the body by being both a fabulous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory all rolled up in one. As a comparison, curcumin is eight times as potent an antioxidant as vitamin E. Environmental toxins and pollutants are literally neutralized in the presence of curcumin. When curcumin is administered prior to giving laboratory rats a toxic liver poison that normally would kill them, they survived with very few if any symptoms.
Less well known is the ability of curcumin to remove toxic heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum from the blood stream. Many pay significant amounts of money to clear these substances from their body, the use of curcumin could be an equal and more convenient treatment with far less expense. As with most herbs, the oral route requires a rather large amount of curcumin to be effective, because of the difficulty in absorbing it.
In modern day herbology, we know that curcumin has been tested against steroid drugs to relieve the discomfort and pain of arthritis and found to be equal or even better and certainly tolerated much better. The conversion of this multi-talented herb into a liposomal delivery system offers a Rolls Royce version never before seen or used.
Scientists consider that curcumin may be the finest broad spectrum medicine every known!
