Introduction:

Menopause, often referred to as "change of life" or "climacteric", is that transition period from reproduction function to one of a more enlarged vista of activity. Most women, by this time, have raised their children, gained the experience that a lifetime of trial and error has taught, and are now ready to depart on new adventures of enjoyment without "that time of the month" to hinder activity.

Unfortunately, the woman who ceases to menstruate is often overwhelmed with physical and psychological phenomena which may make this time of life a miserable, tortuous experience. Since not all women go through this traumatic state, it obviously is not necessary and I will attempt to outline in this booklet the reasons for the problems and the means to solve them.
