What Causes High Blood Pressure? Now this is a question that has never been truly answered by medicine. Cholesterol and salt (sodium) are the subjects of constant debates as to which one is the cause of high blood pressure and neither one of them are the culprit. There has been much research done by both scientists and medical doctors and these two substances are not the cause of high blood pressure.
But doesn't everyone know that high blood pressure causes strokes, heart attacks and who knows what else.
WRONG/INCORRECT! Neither one of these statements is fact. How these two unsubstantiated statements came to be fact (at least in my opinion) is some scientist gave this as his opinion after he had done some limited research.
This opinion was repeated so frequently that in time it was viewed as fact. It has now reached the point that if someone (me, for instance!) states that cholesterol and sodium are not the causes of either blood pressure , stokes or heart attacks, the label "quack" is quickly adhered to this heretical thought! If you are really interested in the true cause of high blood pressure...
