Introduction:
Wholistic Cancer Therapy
Cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the United States and the most feared of all diseases. It is estimated that 1,479,350 men and women (766,130 men and 713,220 women) will be diagnosed with and 562,340 men and women will die of cancer of all types in 2009. Based on rates from 2004-2006, 40.58% of men and women born today will be diagnosed with cancer at some time during their lifetime. This number can also be expressed as one in two men and women will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. These statistics are called the lifetime risk of developing cancer. On January 1, 2006, in the United States there were approximately 11,384,892 men and women alive who had a history of cancer — 5,168,889 men and 6,216,003 women.
By their own statistics, medicine and research have not made much progress in the treatment of cancer since the 1950's. In fact, some of the cancers are more prevalent today than they were back then. This is a serious indictment of our medical system which has raised billions of dollars to research this dread disease. Enormous grants have not found the cause, much less the cure. After years of denial, the National Cancer Institute has finally agreed with the vocal minority of nutritionists that diet and the environmental factors are causal factors to the incidence of cancer.
Still the cancer industry steadfastly denies the many successful alternative, eclectic and complementary therapies which are available today.
This booklet is a compilation of the therapies which were tried and used at Hospital Santa Monica on the Baja coast of Mexico.
I have spent most of my adult life practicing, researching, writing and teaching (some have called it "preaching") the gospel of good nutrition. During that time, I have had the honor and privilege of knowing, sharing and learning from some of the most innovative healers in the world. Some of them were medical doctors, chiropractors, naturopaths, osteopaths and dentists; while other professed to be successful with techniques that were not licensed or generally accepted. "One should walk in another's shoes for three moons before judging." The wisdom in this statement has been repeatedly reinforced in my experiences with others.
It is my strong belief that the diagnosis of cancer is not the "kiss of death." Most of the time, the alternative or wholistic practitioner sees the patient only after all that conventional medicine - surgery, chemotherapy and radiation - has failed.
When the words, "We can do no more," are uttered b the same physician who said, "We got it all," is usually when the terminally ill patient b gins to look for a ray of hope; a way to cap their physician-imposed death sentence.
It is a miracle that any of these patients survive - but amazingly, a majority do under the intensive protocol established by myself and others and explained in this booklet.
The treatments and medicines described in this booklet are not the wishful thinking of a self-appointed savior. They have been widely researched in various countries of the world, but for one reason or another, they have not been "blessed" by the Food and Drug Administration for use in terminal patients in the United States.
Some believe that hope itself sometimes can be responsible for a total reversal of an irreversible disease. So this booklet is may be about hope based upon legitimate research and personal experience.
Th last 52 years of observation, practice, failure and success have created an effective approach to one of the most feared diseases of mankind, cancer. Hospital Santa Monica was the largest truly wholistic hospital in the world. To have had this facility and the opportunity to offer the therapies offered there, I believe was the fulfillment of my fondest dream.
